See you tomorrow!

Re-Elect J Paul Brown for HD59.

Del,

This November, many changes will take place across our state and our nation. Citizens of this country will throw their votes behind a new President, and those of us that live in Colorado will have the chance to elect a new US Senator. There are also a plethora of elections coming at county and municipal levels that must be decided.

With so many important elections coming up in November, it is paramount that our Republican base participates in the caucus process. This process helps us vet candidates to choose the best ones, while allowing us to talk to our like-minded neighbors and exchange ideas.

All too often, we talk about our desires to spread our Western Slope values to our states and our nation. Caucus is the first step in our pathway to achieving this goal. Please find your caucus location here. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Sincerely,

J. Paul Brown

Bridge to Nowhere!

Re-Elect J Paul Brown for HD59.
View this email in your browser
Del,

In my last email, I talked about the importance of winning seats to keep the Democratic agenda at bay. My bill, HB16-1138, had the potential to properly fund our transportation needs, including maintenance to our highways and bridges and expansion projects that would have secured our tourism and agriculture industry.

Transportation has been severely underfunded for many years and the Democratic House Majority knows it. Instead of Democrats supporting this bill and working with Republicans, they proposed raising gas taxes again and killing the bill leaving us with a bridge to nowhere.

The truth is, this problem is larger than a much-needed transportation bill. Although our roads and bridges are in dire need of funding for repair, there is a much larger issue that needs to be addressed. The root issue is a Democratic leadership in the House that wants to fund ineffective social programs to appeal to their voter base. They abuse their power by using bureaucracy to bury the issues they would rather not address and use flimsy excuses to cover it up. We have seen this happen time and time again over the course of their majority.

November is coming up quickly, which can mean a real shake-up of the House and Senate in Colorado. In order to get this and many other conservative bills through our legislature, we will need a majority in both houses.

As your legislator, I can only promise to do what I have always done: work tirelessly on your behalf and bring real results back to HD59. I am seeking re-election to take the values we have on the Western Slope and make them heard in Denver. My seat is one of the most important seats up for election this year, and I hope you will consider supporting my campaign. You can click here to donate $10, $25, $50 or $100. Your donation is greatly appreciated, and will help you and I ensure a more prosperous future in Southwest Colorado.

Sincerely,

Too Much at Stake!

Re-Elect J Paul Brown for HD59.
View this email in your browser
Del,

November is inching closer, and already we are seeing the drastic effects of being in the minority. The Democrat-controlled State House of Representatives has been pushing through their liberal agenda. They have fought, with varying success, to impose government control on the Western Slope and on issues that affect our way of life. Luckily, our Republican-controlled State Senate can block their liberal push, but this is not enough. A government stalemate does not pass free-market healthcare reform, it does not pass tax cuts, and it does not fix our infrastructure. The reality is we won't be able to limit government without a majority in the State House of Representatives and the Governor's seat. Luckily, we have an opportunity to take back the State House in November, and it starts with my seat, House District 59.

In 2014, I had the honor of representing House District 59 by the slimmest of margins, a mere 170 votes. With the Presidential election taking place this year, you can bet your bottom dollar that we will be facing another extremely challenging election cycle. This election could result in a drastic change for the worse if we do not act now. My opponent will surely be backed by large donors who want to see our water leave the state, our gun rights restricted, and our liberties restrained.

Unfortunately, we cannot count on a Democrat Representative to fight to preserve the rights for the people of House District 59. We may lose the great strides we have taken in the right direction on so many important issues. There is simply too much at stake: water rights, transportation, and protecting the 2nd Amendment are all issues that we will lose if we do not keep a strong, conservative voice fighting for them.

I have stood for these and many other issues as they are my core values. As your neighbor, I am grateful for the privilege of representing you now and in the future. Would you stand with me? Please act now to help me fight to protect our Western Slope rights by donating $25, $50, $75 or even $100 today!

Sincerely,

J. Paul Brown

Fighting for Colorado's Infrastructure!

Re-Elect J Paul Brown for HD59.
View this email in your browser
Del,

The fourth week of the 2016 regular session is closing, and I am fighting tooth and nail for our community. My bill, HB16-1138, guarantees $200 Million dollars to fix Colorado's crumbling roads and bridges. It will also support our growing tourism and agriculture industry. This is a real bill that can produce real results and better our community in HD59, and our entire state.

Unfortunately, my fight to secure the future of Colorado's infrastructure just got a whole lot tougher. The Democrat-controlled House is afraid of my bill and has sent it to certain death. Please, take five minutes to listen to my radio interview from yesterday on why the Democrats hate this bill, and how I will fight for it. You can listen by clicking the link HERE

I am not giving up. The next step is for me to go to the House Committee on State Affairs and fight harder than ever to make this bill a law. The Democrat leadership is letting bureaucracy stand in the way of improving the lives of Coloradans, and I refuse to let that die quietly.

Keeping strong leaders in our legislature is more important than ever, and I am the only voice who is dedicated to fighting for our crumbling infrastructure. My campaign for re-election is based on the values of our community in Southwest Colorado and providing real results to all Coloradans. Will you support my campaign so I can continue this fight?

This is going to be a close election and every dollar counts. I have demonstrated that I am the only candidate who will see this through, and I know we can win. I hope you will consider donating $25, $50 or even $100 today!

Sincerely,

J. Paul Brown

Protecting our Colorado Water!

Re-Elect J Paul Brown for HD59.
View this email in your browser
Del,

As the legislative session heats up, I am fighting hard for water rights in Colorado. I am a member of the Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee, and I am constantly working toward having more efficient water infrastructure and water use for our state so that we may continue to grow our economy.

My biggest effort on this issue is for water storage on the South Platte River. This session, I am bringing forth a bill that I believe can alleviate the loss of an agricultural water resource, help replenish the Front Range's aquifers, and keep Western Slope water from being diverted east over the Continental Divide. The South Platte River is the only major river in Colorado that does not have a water storage dam in its main stem, so I believe this will be a no-brainer.

Why is this so important?  Well, just last spring, over two million acre-feet of water -water that we could have legally stored and used in Colorado- left the state with no way to contain it. This water could be used to keep our economy strong and our agricultural jobs secure. That is why I support water storage on the South Platte River's main stem.

Time and time again, we have seen that these battles for water rights can take many years. I know that I am the right person for the job, and my campaign needs your support to ensure that I can continue fighting for our water rights. Can I count on you to support me today with a donation of $25, $50, $100 or $400?

We are close to a large breakthrough in keeping Colorado's water -which is rightfully ours to use- in Colorado. However, I fear that if we do not have a strong voice on the Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee, all of our hard work may be undone.  Will you support my re-election today with a donation to ensure Colorado's water security?

Don't forget tomorrow I will be talking about this very issue at two town hall meetings!
